Rhea vs. Hera

Tonight's show was packed! My suggestion for all who want to see closing night is to arrive at 7:30pm when the box office opens.

Tethys vs. Demeter featuring Rachel Bublitz!

Thank you to the lovely Rachel Bublitz for filling in as BOB for last night's performances. I was helping set up Play Cafe in Berkeley, got some useful feedback on my short play and rushed over to the Olympians Festival to enjoy both performances.

Hades-Inspired Outfit

This outfit is inspired by Hades, ruler of the underworld ... though, of course I'm not underground in this photo ...

Tonight: Coeus and Crios vs. Hades!

Tonight we will be watching COEUS AND CRIOS by Evelyn Jean Pine, directed by Karen Offereins vs. HADES by Benjamin and Robert Cooper, directed by Tracy Held Potter (hey, that's me!).

See you there!

Prometheus vs. Hephaestus

Tonight's outfit was procured from Boudreaux's Cafe in San Francisco (5030 Third Street), and it was a popular one!

Aphrodite-Inspired Outfit for Dec 7

This outfit turned out to be very popular ... largely because of the boa and the glasses. Had I had a baby with me at the box office, he would have been getting most of the attention.

Mnemosyne and Themis vs. Athena

Last night's house was PACKED! A good reminder to arrive early and save a seat. And the voting was close: Mnemosyne and Themis were shared between two playwrights, Larissa Archer and Susan Sobeloff, and Athena was co-written by Roberta D’Alois and Marilyn Harris Kriegel. Athena won by ONE VOTE! Who ever said your vote didn't count?

My outfit last night was inspired by Athena and the question: If I were running for office at this moment, what do I have in my closet that would sort of look politically appropriate? Answer below! With bonus robot pose! (Photos by Rachel Bublitz.)

Olympians III Opens Tonight: Hestia & Dionysus!

December 5 @ 8 PM

Hestia by James Kierstead, directed by Anthony Miller
Not all homemakers are created equal.

Dionysus, or Die oh! Nice, us! by Lily Janiak, directed by Anthony Miller
The party god is re-imagined as a deeply unpleasant nerd in a feminist play that hates its own feminism and wants to die.

Here is a preview of the outfit that I'm wearing inspired by the Dionysus play. The question is, what does a feminist look like? Answer: you and me! Ohhhhh....!!!!

I will be wearing glasses tonight to emphasize the nerdiness ... and so I can see at a distance.

Visit the SF Olympians website for more information.

Welcome to the official photo blog for the 2012 SF Olympians Box Office Babe (BOB)!

This is the third annual SF Olympians Festival featuring readings from original, new plays inspired by Greek mythology. Previous BOBs, Marissa Skudlarek and Barbara Jwanouskos, set a tradition of creating outfits inspired by each night of performances. I am excited--and intimidated!--to continue that tradition with images of my attempts at no-budget fashion.

My SF Olympians fashion journey will be documented by the fabulous Oakland-based photographer Rob Reeves!

I will also be posting my favorite photos from this year's festival from now through closing night on December 20th. Save this page, add it to your feed, and welcome to the ride!
